My mom makes a traditional apple pie that is hard to compete with. So I am always looking for something different/unusual to make. I came across this recipe and figured if it didn't taste good...at least it would look yummy. We enjoyed it. I used the store bought crust (as the recipe called for). The only thing I would change about this recipe is I would try a homemade crust next time. Store bought crust has a doughy-ness about it (even when cooked). I enjoyed the recipe though. The best part about it was it was gorgeous!
